Emergency Services
Citizens’ Ambulance Service provides Emergency Medical Services to residents of Indiana County and portions of Armstrong, Westmoreland and Clearfield Counties.

About 180 full- and part-time staff members, including 120 emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics comprise our personnel. We come from all walks of life, but share a common desire to help the people in our communities.

Citizens’ maintains six stations: five in Indiana County (Indiana, Blairsville, Plumville, Hillsdale and Clyde-Wheatfield) and one in Armstrong County (Elderton). The PA Department of Health has licensed Citizens’ to provide basic and advanced support services at each of these locations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Immediate Response Personnel
Immediate Response Personnel (IRP) are certified EMTs who answer calls from their homes or places of business in order to enhance the response to rural areas during medical emergencies. IRPs are dispatched simultaneously with the ambulance to provide initial patient care at the scene.
